As I sit here I can see Luna peeking through the branches of the trees. Slowly climbing her shallow arc across the clear night sky.

A full moon here in the river city, and a pleasantly mild evening.
I've thrown the windows wide open to accept the gentle breeze...The only time the black shrouds I call curtains stir.
A breeze that somehow cleanses my house, made stuffy by a long, hot, and humid St. Louis summer.
As autumn creeps its way into our world, the moon looks down as if to take one last look at all the green. Her melancholy gaze seems to me a sly smile. Mother to the children of the night, and sister to the stars.... she watches over us.

So, does she inspire you? Does the full moon bring about some sort of unexplained change? Do you gaze at her longingly...Do you speak to her?
Do you whisper your hopes and dreams to her? Or do you cry out in anguish for all the wrongs you've suffered, in hopes that at least she will understand.

Do you honor the presence of the full moon or does it pass un-noticed.
Do you go out of your way to make sure you are "Out", among friends, reveling in the electricity in the air?
Or do you lock yourself away, burdened by the madness that sometimes such a night can inspire.

What I ask, in my decidedly verbose and long-winded way, do you love the moon, or is it just another night? What if anything does the Moon mean to you?

As for me, well it should be obvious; I wax poetic, and ramble incessantly. As I sip sangria I occasionally blow her kisses and tell her I miss her.

To me she is grace, hope, beauty, love and so much more.
She teases us all month long, showing bits of her, waxing and flirting until finally showing herself for a few days and we are together again. Sometimes she hides behind the clouds, flashing that naughty smirk of hers, but the words, I'll be back are always on her lips. So I worry not. For I know I will see her again.

P.S.
Hmm looking back on what I've written, honestly all I really wanted to know is if anyone cares about the moon anymore. But. What can I say? Luna's inspiration strikes again…turning a mundane post into some kind of sangria fuelled prose…LOL
Another old scribbling of mine I figured I'd post.

As summer takes hold here I like remembering autumn.
